Flea Bites & Hot Spots

I have a dog that is allergic to flea bites and also to the flea shampoo, spray, drops and powder. He breaks out in hives over much of his body. The hives itch, then he scratches and breaks open the skin resulting in some nasty open sores that don't heal easily. He also suffers from hot spots occationally.

What I have found to be effective on both is to apply the AniMend Pure Emu Oil directly onto his skin wherever there is any skin irritation or open wound.

He likes to lick the area after application, but I don't worry because AniMend Pure Emu oil is edible and not harmful if ingested. In fact it natually contains Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids and is considered a dietary supplement. To try to keep him from licking the area until most of the oil has absorbed I simply apply it right before I feed him. He is busy eating and doesn't bother not lick the area as much.

The itching is reduced and he stops scratching it within a short period of time. The injured areas heal within a day or two.

I also add about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of AniMend Pure Emu Oil to whatever pet shampoo that I'm using when I bath him. It seems to soothe the skin and reduce any inflammation.

Puncture Wound & Tear

Miss Bart, our chocolate lab, had an altercation with our Akita. A minor disagreement that resulted in a nasty puncture wound and tear below her left eye. After checking the wound thoroughly I decided there was no need to go to the vet so I carefully cleaned it out and tended to it daily. Two days after this incident I got my first emu oil and decided this would be an excellent test of your product. I started applying the emu oil after each cleaning twice a day. I've never seen a puncture wound heal so quickly or so well. I definitely expected to see a scar. There is no scar and the hair has all grown back in place.

To add to this story, the dog Miss Bart tangled with, Logan (her kennel mate)was very sorry and was very attentive when Miss Bart was getting her treatments. Logan was also sporting a scrape under her left eye but all she lost was a few hairs. To keep everything on an even keel we also devoted some attention to Logan's 'wound' with emu oil knowing that it was a perfectly safe product to use on her. To say the least, both are healed and both are happy.

We will keep emu oil on hand in our household from now on. We can't imagine being without it.

Physical Therapy and PRO80 Massage

We have an Australian Cattledog mix who got tangled up with a cow's feet and ended up with a torn cruciate ligament and had to have surgery. On a whim I decided one evening while doing her physical therapy to massage in some Pro80. I was very surprised the next morning to see that after laying still all night that she was less stiff than usual and was using that leg immediately after waking. Typically she carries that leg for a bit before getting it limbered up and using it. We are now massaging the Pro80 in both morning and night. We also used regular emu oil on a sore created by the cast that she wore for a week. It was a small but very deep sore. We treated it several times a day with emu oil and it healed quite rapidly. Later we noticed she was fussing with that spot and creating a lick granuloma. Back to the emu oil we went. We put it on the spot and then did her physical therapy to keep her from licking it for about 15 minutes. That has healed very well and she no longer fusses with it.She may be only a dog to some people but to us our pets (4 dogs) are a very important part of our family and deserve the best of care.
